Dear Members, Before I summarize the season highlights, it was both an honor and a privilege for me to serve as your Commodore the last two years and I thank the Members, Executive Board, Club Manager and Staff for their outstanding support. That said, the following is a summary of this season’s activities: CLUB REPAIRS/IMPROVEMENTS Todd Scallen our House and Grounds Chair and Bill Lowitz our Club Manager have done a terrific job working with many contractors to complete the following:
DBC BOARD CHANGES I would like to thank Marty Milewski who will be stepping down after 8 years as our Entertainment Chair. Marty has made our picnics and Lobsterbakes fun filled events. Kevin McTigue will be assisting Brian Lovegrove our Fleet Captain with slip assignments and record keeping. PROJECTS PLANNED BY Y. E. 2015
2016 PLANNED IMPROVEMENTS
FINANCIAL POSTURE The Club has one year remaining for the ‘Sandy Assessment’ and Y.T.Y. we have increased our cash position. Additionally, we have successfully completed our internal financial audit consistent with our By-Laws and Tom Lochtefeld our Treasurer continues to perform in an exemplary manner. COMMUNICATIONS Paul Johnson our Community Relations Chair has done an excellent job in that capacity by initiating the following over the past 2 seasons:
DBC COMMUNITY SUPPORT
LAUNCH SERVICE/GUEST MOORINGS
A & B DOCK EXPANSION Additional slips for our members continues to be a top priority and Todd Scallen is working tirelessly with DEEP, our consultants at Docko Inc., and appropriate town officials to make this a reality. GAS TANK REPLACEMENT Our gas tank goes ‘end of life’ at Y.E. 2018 and David Dever chairs a committee to insure a smooth transition to include all the appropriate Town and State officials. 2016 DUES & FEES 2016 Dues and Fees will remain the same as 2015 DREDGING SURVEY The Survey resulted in no immediate need for dredging but we will continue to monitor the situation as needed. MEMBERSHIP During the year we continually increased our membership which now stands at 736! FISHING CONTEST Participation continues to grow and includes many young members. PROCESS CHANGES We successfully piloted ‘On Line Mooring’ with our launch and racks/locker members and in 2016 we will roll out the process to all our members in order to streamline our billing/tracking and increase productivity. KEY UPCOMING EVENTS
VOLUNTEERING Volunteering continues to be the backbone of our club and again thanks for all your support during the last two years. Thank you, Glen R Osberg Commodore
